An Innovative, Holistic Approach to Healing, Personal Growth, & Wellness
Holistic Healing: Philosophy & Approach
The Healing Arts Center of Richmond is a strengths-based, holistic healing practice founded on the belief that optimal health and wellness must take into account the whole person: mind, body, and spirit
Just as the body naturally gravitates towards growth, healing, and health when ill or injured, so does the mind and spirit strive for congruence, balance, and wholeness. Mind, body, and spirit are viewed as inseparable, integrated facets of the whole person, and so, for true healing and growth to occur, and to reach our greatest potential, all aspects of the whole person must be taken into account and addressed simultaneously.
When I founded the Healing Arts Center of Richmond in 2008, I called my approach "Holistic Psychotherapy," and defined it as the integration of traditional psychotherapy ("talk therapy") with complementary therapies and techniques that tap into the subconscious through art, music, energy and trauma work, as well as, movement, meditation, health & nutrition practices, to treat the whole person, mind-body-spirit, with the intention of creating optimal health and wellness. For over 15 years I have specialized in integrating healing practices, tools, and techniques including reiki, yoga, GIM, WFPB nutrition, and other practices, with my expertise as an LCSW, EMDR practitioner, and trauma specialist, to heal the whole person.
I am dedicated to helping empower clients and students to make desired changes through the experience and application of the holistic practices, tools, and techniques that most effectively address their intentions and issues, and allow them to reach their highest goals and aspirations, and fulfill their greatest potential.
This Holistic Healing approach is at the core of Healing Spaces, and is instrumental in creating and facilitating transformative retreats, workshops, and classes, and grew out of more than 19 years of experience as an LCSW and trauma specialist, with individuals and groups, in a wide range of settings.
